Over the weekend, I have noticed an inconsistency with my internet which caused service disruptions. My ISP came out and ran some test and everyone in the area is highly affected. Using my knowledge, I was able to determine the ISP is being ddosed constantly by the CCP. This means streaming will not be steady and possibly taken off air if the ddos is not mitigated. I am constantly working with a solution with the ISP but, of course, they are not helpful. I will start broadcasting tomorrow to see how things are and will go from there. Once again, especially to Letcher County, I apologize but until the Chinese Communist Party halts their attack, the issue is out of my hands.

Due to the massive flooding that happened today, there is a possibly the live stream may go offline. Power and internet outages are reported along with line damage in the Fleming-Neon area of Letcher County. Live broadcast will continue but just in case if it goes dead, it is due to power and internet outages caused by severe flooding.

The damage to the dipole feeding the Letcher County Public Safety Feed is becoming more damaged. 2/10/2025 the feed will go offline for a new antenna replacement around 11AM EST. The dipole will be replaced with a Tram super discone antenna which can take a few hours. Pictures will be posted on the website later on the day.

Due to the nature of the damaged antenna on the SDS200 broadcasting the Letcher County Public Safety stream, live streaming will be down until 02/05/2025. During this timeframe, the database will be backup and signal should be stronger.

Yesterday I have found my dipole antennas have been damaged due to the severe polar cold which also brought strong winds which caused the damage. Starting 02/02/2025, I will be swapping the antenna’s on the Letcher County Public Safety feed and the stream will be offline for a few hours. If anybody reads these updates, the static you have been hearing is the result of this damage.
I have also purchased a downverter which converts frequencies in the GHz range down. I will be performing massive testing with this.
I have alot started back feeding aircraft to ADS-B Exchange after coming across a few aircraft that was not showing on their maps. More information to follow.

Due to the severe cold, some antenna’s have been partially damaged and the stream is currently offline. I am exchanging all the antenna’s currently and hopefully by 01/26/2025 everything will be back to normal.
Currently testing out a new Low-Noise Amplifier (LNA) which is used on the SDR’s. Once the stream and antenna’s issue is worked out, I will go back to testing the LNA and grab images from NOAA satellites and other elements.

Updates will be performed on the radio database on the morning of 01/15/2025. Downtime should be around 30 minutes.

Adding a new feed to Letcher County Public Safety: KY Transportation District 12. With the current winter storm, the citizens of Letcher County needs to be aware of road hazards. The update should take no more than 5 minutes.

Radio update complete.
After the update, I am swapping out an RG5X coax with RG8 on the blog v4. This should improve signal and transmissions from polar satellites. I also have dusted out an old RCA tablet with KDE Neon which I will update to be an SDR project. I am leaving KDE Neon on it and possibly will work to have DragonOS put on it.

I started back using SDR to capture NOAA satellite images but came across a few problems.
On the blogv4, the dipole antenna has been damaged which I am currently testing an omnidirectional. But this is not a good substitute.
Feed lines need to be upgraded which will gradually happen starting next week. This will not affect the scanner feeds.
I notice heavy interference with NOAA-15 on 137.62 MHz. I believe this is caused by terrestrial interference however, I was able find two different transmissions on the other frequencies. I am still investigating this.
